Early Learning Birth - 12yrs
At J. R. Coleman we devote ourselves to providing the absolute best early care and education to children and peace of mind to parents while they work or further their education. We've been doing it for over thirty years.
We know that children who consistently receive high quality early care and education will increasingly display high levels of school readiness. We know that kids who get to kindergarten ready to learn will be more successful than those who are not. We know you want your kids to be successful now and throughout their life.
We are proud of our two star quality rating by the State of Ohio. It means we have more qualified and degreed teachers in our nursery, toddler and preschool classes. It means we have lower teacher to child ratios in all areas. It means we evaluate how well our teachers teach right along with how well your children learn. It means our before and after school programs are filled with active learning opportunities that enhance what is learned in school. It means your school age child keeps learning all summer long while enjoying a wide variety of fun and educational experiences.
In 2001, J. R. Coleman adopted the High/Scope educational curriculum for use in our program. This educational approach emphasizes child-initiated learning with adult support. Children's interests and choices are at the heart of the program. High/Scope provides teachers with a framework for organizing the learning environment, creating a consistent daily routine, and interacting with children in a warm supportive manner. The program provides children with a consistent and secure daily experience that promises interesting activities, offers individualized attention from teachers, and gives children a sense of control over themselves and their environment. Today, we continue to use High/Scope as a basis for the intentional teaching that takes place everyday here.
If you are a first-time mom or dad, we understand. We have cared for babies for over thirty years.
If you are the parent of a toddler, we understand. We are trained to know the stages of toddler development and how to encourage safe exploration and learning at this age.
If you are the parent of a preschooler, we understand. We know that to be prepared for kindergarten is to be prepared for a big new world.
If you are the parent of an elementary school student, we understand. We know that before school your child needs to be sent off for their school day with an encouraging smile and their homework. We know they need a hug and a sincere interest in their day when they get off the bus. We know they need a summer of safe, exciting, and educational fun.
If you are a parent...we understand. You need to work. You need to further your education. You need peace of mind that your child is not only safe, but learning, enjoying, and being supported with loving care. We know.
Because you are your child's first teacher, we know you want to learn more about appropriate stages of development for all ages. Use the links below or those listed on the appropriate Infant, Toddler, Preschool or School Age sections.
