Mahoning
Road from Harmont Avenue to Maple Avenue is a gateway corridor
to the City of Canton
and "Main Street" for the NorthEast Area Renaissance
neighborhood. However, the worn-out physical
condition and appearance of the Mahoning Road street corridor
is hampering city and neighborhood
efforts to improve economic vitality and quality of life in
the area. The NorthEast Area Renaissance
Economic Development Project addresses the need for comprehensive
street corridor capital
improvements along Mahoning Road in order to establish a more positive
neighborhood image,
support property values, enhance safety, retain and attract investment, and
recreate an environment
that is conducive to economic development and quality of life.

and planned improvements along the
Mahoning Road street corridor.
