The J. R. Coleman Preschool Experience
By the time a child reaches the preschool ages of 3, 4 and 5 they have already developed the emotional and intellectual foundation that they will build on for the rest of their life. If they have been taught to be confident and inquisitive explorers, they will be ready to learn about anything and everything that is of interest to them. And at this age...that's just about everything.
Preschool prepares children for success ..not just for kindergarten and their school career...but for life.
At J. R. Coleman your child's success is our goal.
The J. R. Coleman Preschool classrooms are exciting places where discovery is celebrated every minute of every day. A key part of your preschoolers experience here is our talented and caring staff of teachers. They might prepare a lesson in math and science around the sand and water table. They might use shaving cream to teach about texture, color, and design. They might teach economics with a field trip to a local farm and then a game of 'Grocery Store'.
Everything a preschooler sees is an opportunity for discovery and learning. The Sun and it's color, shape, temperature, and concepts of night and day; the Stars - how many? how far? what are they made of? the Sea - waves and motion, fish, shells, and birds; Rainbows - how are they made? how many colors? why are there colors? when do rainbows happen? why?
We get excited about all of the questions. We are energized by all of the discovery. We care about your kids and their future.
We focus on Results
From July 1, 2009 to March 1, 2010, 31 of the 37 preschool children attending J. R. Coleman showed improvements in their COR (Child Observation Record) assessment scores. These scores evaluate a child's progress in five key areas including language and literacy, social relations, mathematics and science, movement and music, and creative representation.
Over that same time period, 58% of the preschoolers who had been with J. R. Coleman since they were toddlers scored at or above average scores. AND...64% who had been with us since they were infants scored at or above average.
