General Information
St. Paul’s Senior Housing is a four story building, consisting of 65 units.
There are 48 one
bedroom apartments,
16 efficiency apartments and a manager’s
suite.The ground floor is
devoted to parking
of automobiles. One elevator,
conveniently located, allows easy access
to the apartments on all
floors.There
are 6 apartments designed especially for the handicapped.
These units are
constructed to better accommodate the handicapped or disabled persons who
require the
use of a wheelchair or walker.
Location
The location at 1732 Market Avenue North in Canton, provides easy access to
downtown,
and is on the main bus line.
Design & Amenities
Each one-bedroom unit has a living room, dining area, kitchen, bathroom,
bedroom, and ample
storage space. Each efficiency unit has a large
living/sleeping/dining area, full kitchen, bathroom,
and storage space. In each
bathroom there are safety grab bars around the bathtub/shower.
Each unit is
equipped with self-contained smoke detectors, emergency alarm system, and
standard TV antenna outlet. All apartments are provided with range,
refrigerator, carpeting
and drapery rods. Utilities are included in the rent.
Community Areas
Residents may enjoy the lounge, Laundromat, and three community rooms. These
community
areas are designed for individual, small, and large group activities
whether it be social, cultural or
educational events.
There are two community
televisions sets with cable programming in
the
larger community areas.
Rents
Rents are subsidized under the Federal Section 8 Housing Assistance
Payment
Program (HUD) in which tenants who are eligible for housing pay 30%
of their
gross adjusted income for rent.
Income Limits
Limits are adjusted annually and posted by HUD.
Eligibility
Any person 62 years or older, or those certified as disabled/handicapped.
Families of two persons where one member is 62+ or disabled.
Applicants are not discriminated against on the basis of sex, creed, religion or
race.
St. Paul’s Senior Housing provides housing for those who are capable of
independent living.
